MENA-Water Pre-Treatment:
This is the preliminary process of wastewater treatment that utilizes screens and other separation methods for removal of floating objects, such as rags, cans, bottles, sticks and grit that may clog pumps, small pipes, and downstream processes.

Multi Rake Screen

The Wastewater flows through a grid rack of steel or stainless steel which retains contamination products. Grab Screen
The wastewater flows through a grating screen made of stainless steel, while screenings are held back. Solid matters is picked up by special grab directly at the bottom of the channel without the need for a base step .A pivoting scraper discharges the screenings into a container, wash compactor, screw conveyor, conveyor belt etc.

Perforated Belt Screen
The wastewater flows through perforated filter elements made of stainless steel The filter elements forms a continuous filter belt which is cleaned by a brush at the upper deflection point. The cleaning process is assist by series of jets working in proportion to the screening loads.
Tines located on every 5th screening element prevent build-up of rolling matter in front of the screen and ensure that large matter is removed. The sheet steel side plates of the filter elements slide on plastic rails on the screen frame, thus forming a seal and preventing screenings from being washed past the screen at the sides.

Step Screen

Basket Screen
For Screening of Sewage in pump stations and manholes. It is based on the design of coarse bar screens. The basket screen is raised and lowered in the shaft via electric hoist. It is guided by two guide rails built into the shaft and four plastic rollers fitted to the basket. The screen is manually controlled via a local control section with dead man’s switch for raising and lowering the basket.

Screw conveyors are used to convey solid matter (Screening, Grit and Dewatered Sludge). The conveyor screw can be constructed with or without a shaft. The screw conveyor can be directly installed in a concrete tank or a stainless steel tank. The conveyed material is then carried to the discharge point like a Skip, Compactor or a classifier.

Longitudinal Grit Trap

Grit Classifier
Inflow of grit/water mixture can be either under pressure or by gravity line. The tangential feed induces a rotary movement in the water which causes the heavier substances such as sand to sink to the apex of the funnel where they are removed and dewatered by the screw conveyor.

Grit Washer
The grit/water mixture is fed in by the inlet flange of the grit wash tank. Organic matters are held in suspension and floated off while the grit is sediment in the container. With the addition of water, the sediment grit is separated from the remaining organic constituents using a stirring device and up-current technique. The grit is removed from the container, de-watered and discharged via discharge screw.

Complete mechanical pre-treatment in a compact plant includes: Fine screen, Screening treatment, Grit traps, Grease traps and grit classifiers. As the wastewater passes the screen, solid materials are removed and wastewater flows into the grit trap. This prevents sedimentation between the screen and the grit trap. The waste water is pumped or flows freely into the flume of the screen, where it is cleaned and the screenings discharged, de-watered and compacted.
